Musing…
This is what we are
made up of.
Something in between the dreaming and the doing.
Something arching down from there to here.
We are the arching.
We are neither here nor there.
We are the hope that lives between them.
The continual blooming outward and upward
of something we want, but cannot see.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. -- Buddha

All dreams need
a human channel to embody them. (We are the arching…we are the hope…) Embracing the longings of the heart is
essential to a meaningful life. Allowing our self to say “I want that” taps
into that wildness that surges and thrives beneath our consciousness, and
brings to the surface the dreams that beckon us forward.
Kate’s Turn:
Last month I had an image in mind that I was trying to paint – I wanted to capture the winter light, for I
intended to use this for my winter solstice greeting. After many dissatisfactory attempts, I gazed at my practice
sheet, and began to crop out areas that I really liked. Behold! There was my image! The dreamy, soft image emerged when I allowed something other than my
persistent efforting to take place.
During this same time period, I heard myself saying “I want my gifts and
talents available to a larger number of people beside my one-to-one service. What would it take…?
I’ve been dreaming about leading retreats and experiential workshops for a long time, and this dreamseed finally delivered – I presented a keynote on Body*Mind*Spirit for a women’s retreat, plus I led a workshop on qigong. When faced with the anxiety of actually presenting for 90 minutes to 100 women, I chose to focus on my desires and not my fears. I had to allow myself to grow into a bigger dream I had for myself. And this allowing opened up even more possibilities! So now I am dreaming BIG! Making a pilgrimage on the Camino in Spain...painting lessons in France...I am dreaming today to start it on it’s path to fulfillment, allowing myself to say “I want that.” We are the stuff dreams are made of.
Our bodies contain us through each awakened moment. They hold the dreams of ourselves – filled to the top; we become as we dream (excerpt from “Dream Jar” by Annie Woods).

Get Fired Up:
Give yourself
permission to have all you desire. What do you want that you have not allowed yourself to want? What are you not asking? What is the wildness you have never
dared to become?
